Our Story
GIMS Energy Pvt Ltd (GIMS Energy) - formerly known as Gupta Industrial Maintenance Services Pvt. Ltd. - was founded in 1990 by Mr. Sitaram Gupta, a veteran Indian Naval engineer, with a singular mission: to bring disciplined, systems-level engineering to the heart of India’s industrial energy infrastructure.
Today, as GIMS Energy, we operate across the energy spectrum - from power plant maintenance to turnkey solar EPC and solar component trading. What started as a specialised power plant maintenance partner is now a multi-wing energy solutions company, shaped by its legacy, driven by innovation, and aligned with India’s evolving energy needs.
After serving 15 years in the Indian Navy - maintaining warship engine rooms under high-pressure, mission-critical conditions - Mr. Gupta brought his expertise to the Kuwait Electricity Board, where he led major power system optimisation initiatives for over a decade. However, following the Gulf War, he was forced to return to India and begin anew at the age of 60 - driven by purpose, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to engineering excellence.

GIMS was founded as a partnership firm, marking its foray into India’s industrial sector with specialised expertise in machinery erection and boiler auxiliary maintenance - setting the groundwork for three decades of engineering excellence.
1990
Foundational Beginnings
We secured our first major power project with the erection of two 15 MW turbine generators at Jindal Steels, Raigarh - a landmark achievement that demonstrated our capability in large-scale power infrastructure and marked our emergence as a trusted partner in the energy sector.
1995
Our First Power Sector Breakthrough
We took on our first Operation & Maintenance project for a 51 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant at Ultratech Cement, Gujarat - a defining milestone that marked our transition from equipment services to end-to-end plant operations.
1998
Our Entry into Powerplant O&M
We undertook our first project in a nuclear power plant with the critical overhauling of a 200 MW turbine at NPCIL Tarapur.
We secured our first complete O&M contract for a 31 MW Combined Cycle Cogeneration Plant at ONGC Gandhar.
We expanded our maintenance expertise into lignite-based power generation, marking a new chapter in our service portfolio.
2001
A Year of Diversification and Growth
We expanded into the hydro power sector with a major turbine overhauling project at Rawatbhata, Rajasthan - reinforcing our commitment to serving India’s diverse energy landscape through multi-sector expertise.
2004
Our Foray into Hydro Power
We transitioned into a Private Limited entity, marking a major step in our growth journey and strengthening our foundation for long-term corporate expansion.
2005
Incorporation as a Private Limited Company
We earned the prestigious Special Class certification under the Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR), reaffirming our commitment to safety and quality.
We executed our first Independent Power Producer (IPP) project - a 135 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant at NTPC Jhanor, Gujarat.
We entered the CFBC power segment with a bi-annual maintenance contract for two 125 MW boiler units at GMDC, Kutch.
2006
A Year of Technical Expansion and Recognition
We executed critical boiler repair and alignment work at Adani Power Limited’s 4,620 MW Mundra Thermal Power Plant - demonstrating our capability in complex, high-pressure supercritical systems.
2017
Our First Supercritical Boiler Project
We recognised India’s accelerating shift toward renewable energy and launched our Solar EPC division - marking a defining step in our journey toward sustainable power solutions.
2018
Our Entry into Solar EPC
We established our in-house manufacturing unit for ACDB and DCDBs, enhancing quality and operational efficiency.
We launched our Solar Component Trading division to enable seamless, pan-India distribution of high-quality solar modules, cables, mounting structures, and other Balance of System (BoS) components - expanding our reach across India’s renewable energy ecosystem
2022
Strengthening Our Solar Capabilities
We executed our first boiler revamping project in Jharsuguda, Odisha, modernising existing power infrastructure for greater efficiency.
We became an authorised channel partner for Adani Solar in Gujarat, strengthening our solar component trading operations.
We secured our first government solar EPC project with JAKEDA, J&K, marking our entry into public sector renewable initiatives.
2023
Expanding Horizons Across Thermal and Solar
We became an authorised Adani Solar Channel Partner in Jammu & Kashmir, strengthening our northern presence.
We rebranded as GIMS Energy Pvt. Ltd., reflecting our evolution into a comprehensive energy solutions provider.
We expanded our footprint across 15+ new regions, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, the North-East, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
2025
A Year of Transformation and Expansion
The company ventured into the renewable energy sector by establishing GIMS Infratech Pvt. Ltd. to manufacture solar mounting structures and solar accessories.
